Inspector of Detention Services
We are establishing the Inspector of Detention Services (IDS) functions within the Office of the Queensland Ombudsman.
The Inspector of Detention Services Act 2022 (IDS Act) sets out a framework for review of detention services, inspection of places of detention and independent and transparent reporting. The focus of the Inspector will be on the prevention of harm rather than responding to complaints when harm occurs. This preventative focus will examine the systems and the lived experiences of people detained.
We are seeking applications for the following roles:
Applications from Aboriginal people, Torres Strait Islander people, and people with a diversity of lived experiences are encouraged.
Every role has at least one permanent position. If you are interested in temporary roles you are also encouraged to apply through this process.
