If you have a complaint about an agency or a business and are dissatisfied with the outcome, you could ask for an independent, impartial review of the matter. 

There are a number of different complaint handling bodies throughout Australia and each specialises in different topics or geographical areas. Making sure you are speaking to the correct complaints body will help you resolve the matter faster.

If your complaint is about: 

• something you bought or hired from a business, the Office of Fair Trading could help
   
• a Commonwealth government agency like Centrelink or Child Support, the Commonwealth Ombudsman could help
   
• a bank, financial service or insurance company, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority could help.
