An investigation into the strip search practices at Townsville Women’s Correctional Centre

This investigation considered the Townsville Women's Correctional Centre’s practice of strip searching prisoners receiving a certain class of medication between June 2013 and March 2014. The investigation found that the practice was contrary to law and unreasonable in the circumstances. The report provided recommendations to improve the oversight of strip searching practices across Queensland correctional centres.
